[54] New dynamics
2020, July 6th
Today, the general manager of Les Roux Bignol sent me a message :
- Hey, do you feel your ears burning?
- What do you mean ?
- We are talking about you.
Then he sent me a screenshot of a conversation he has with his staff.

- Good idea. So for tournaments, how do we proceed ?
- Yeah I’m thinking about the same. Organize a VLF Summer Cup. I know someone who has a website that can host the tournament.
- Me too, IFC.
That is great. Really great. It is hard to convince people to use our website, and I get a lot of negative answers.
And when I receive messages like this one, I know we are going the right way. With our very simple website, we managed to become the first tool they think about for their event. I can’t imagine what he could be in a few months. It’s exciting.
Generally speaking, I think there is interesting dynamics in amateur esport going on. Football game editors don’t offer the competitions players want, so players take the lead and organize these competitions by themselves.
And we took the time to build a website that allows them to easily host their competitions.
There are a lot of websites dedicated to one single competition. And they compete with each other. But there is no websites that allow everyone to create theirs in a common space, and not in a standalone way (like protournoi.fr).
I think we have a huge role de play in these dynamics.
Competitions that are built today may become tomorrow’s huge actors in esport.
Our success depends on their success, so we have to make everything to help them grow in the IFC.
