[66] Reflexions about money
2020, August 20th
Money is a hard topic. A central one if you start a business (no kidding). But I think that over the next few months, we should not give a fuck about earning money. We will have costs, but not a lot, since we build the solution ourselves (well A* builds it, and I make people use it).
Of course we have talked about how we can make the ifc a business and earn money.
But all the roads would distract us from focusing on building a product people would use. We don’t have a lot of ressources, we focus on what is the most important now. And I’m sure that if we manage to build something strong enough for people to like it and spread it, then we’ll find a way to make it viable.
It may sound extremely unexperienced, and maybe it is. It’s just a matter of intuition. The virtual football world is a far-west but has a huge potential because of emotions it creates. Building something strong will take time, we will have to bring people with us, build strong relationships. If we directly talk about money, it may not work.
So paying a few tens of euros per month for servers and database is ok. A* will start a job in a few weeks, and I’ll give guitar lessons. We will be patient.
The project is soon 5 month old (already), and looking back, I think we were extremely lucky. The context, the reasons we started this project, our complementary relationship, the time we had. I am very grateful.
