[99] It’s tiiiiime baby, the V2 is out !

2020, November 17th

At 4pm yesterday, A* asked me.

- Will you be there tonight ? I can do it alone but it’s fun if you are here.
- Of course I’ll be here bro.
- It’s gonna take two hours.
- Ah man I can’t fucking wait.
- Almost 5 months of work come to fruition.
- Clearly, you can be proud.

We waited after the end of the tournament of the night. It was better to do it after, once everyone was asleep.

So we waited for the end of tournament. A* used this time to fix the last details. At midnight French time, we were ready. That’s it, we are deploying the V2.

I am on Macbook / IOS, and A* on PC/Android. So he takes care of deploying on Android, and me on IOS. He had to set it up all my system remotely.

- Make Git reset HEAD~2, then git reset — hard, git pull, and npm install, then Expo Start.

I have bugs, and send him screenshots.

- Hm. Can you show le your package.json? And your app.json ?

In the end, it’s all about getting by. And after fixing a few config stuffs, the app was ready to be tested on TestFlight (an Apple program to test apps before sending them to the App Store).

There are still some small bugs, UX friction points etc. But these are things we will improve in coming updates.

After almost 5 months of work, and a lot, a lot, A LOT of patience, the new versions of the website and the app are finally live.

And i’s beautiful. One day, all teams will have their logo, their profile, their track record… It will be amazing.

Literally 4 minutes after deploying, we were already talking about fixing bugs and improving stuffs. I think it’s impossible for us to take time to enjoy the moment 😂

And 3 minutes later, we were playing like kids with our new website.
